Magnetoresistive Sensors

Information about the structure of magnetic fields of great importance are handheld device for direct visualization of magnetic fields in many application areas of investigation of magnetic materials. These magnetic fields can but so far only classical magnetic field sensors such as Hall and Magnetoresistive Sensors gather themselves. A new magnetooptisches process offers the Matesy GmbH, 2008 from the research facility INNOVENT e.V. has emerged. MagView family, which includes a portable testing device and a camera-based analysis system, it is possible to visualize magnetic fields without going through a scanning measurement directly to the human eye. This opens up possibilities for applications in the areas of quality assurance and the scattered field analysis of magnetic materials. MagView is equipped with LED technology, so that between a version with white light and a variant with monochromatic light (590 nm) can be selected. Detailed structure analyses are possible with two light sources, where the white light source produces a plastic visualization and the monochromatic light is used for the quantitative analysis of scattered field. The handling of the device is very easy. The sensor is kept for an analysis of the material to be examined. The evaluation of polarity, the homogeneity, the distribution of the magnetic material and the magnetization properties takes place purely visually. Digital Imaging for the scattered field analysis are made possible by the integrated CCD-camera. The Visual information can be accurately evaluated thus by image processing software and archived.
